How to verify a teacher's licence in Nigeria

Use this official TRCN register search to check if a teacher is registered and licensed with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Search by TID, phone number, email, NIN, or TRCN registration number — usually printed on the teacher's licence card. Name search is not currently supported.

  1. Get an accepted identifier. Obtain one identifier for the teacher: their TID, phone number, email, NIN, or TRCN registration number — usually printed on the teacher's licence card. Name search is not currently supported.
  2. Search the register. Enter the identifier into the search box on this page and submit the search.
  3. Review the result. The result shows whether the teacher is registered and licensed with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
