Raise a concern

If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please contact:

  • The Nigeria Police Force
  • Your local Child Protection or Social Welfare Office
  • The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) or relevant child protection agency in your state

Employers and former employers

Employers can submit a conduct or competence referral to TRCN concerning a registered teacher or lecturer.

In some cases, there is a legal obligation for employers to report such matters to TRCN, especially where professional misconduct or serious incompetence is involved. This helps us uphold the integrity and standards of the teaching profession in Nigeria.

Members of the public

Members of the public can refer concerns about a teacher's or lecturer's conduct to TRCN.

Concerns about competence should be reported to the teacher's employer in the first instance. Teachers and lecturers may also choose to refer themselves to TRCN. If the concern involves a possible crime, please contact the Nigeria Police Force.
