Mrs. Ruth Ahmed Ansari was born on the 31st July 1959, at Baissa, Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria. Attended her primary education at Baissa Central Primary, and proceeded to Secondary School at Gunduma Community Day Secondary School now, Government Secondary School, Takum in 1973 – 1977 where she obtained her Secondary School Certificate. She proceeded to school of Basic Studies, University of Maiduguri for one-year ‘A’ level programme in 1978 after which she gained admission into the same University where she graduated with a B.Ed in History in 1982. She did her National Youth Service at Government Day School Maiduguri in 1982 – 1983. On completion of NYSC she took up appointment with the then Gongola State College of Education, Jalingo in 1983 as Assistant Lecturer.

In her quest for further studies, within the span of two years after graduation, she proceeded to do her masters programme at University of Jos in 1985, where she obtained M.Ed in curriculum Studies in 1986. She is an experienced teacher who grew from Assistant Lecturer to Chief Lecturer, between 1983 to 2000.

Mrs. Ansari also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management at University of Jos in 1994. She also obtained certificate in Community Education from Israel in 2002.

While in College of Education Jalingo, she held various positions of responsibilities; few among them are, Head of Department of Curriculum & Instruction, Dean of School of Education, Secretary Teaching Practice Committee, Chairman Teaching Practice Committee, Academic Board member in College Governing Council, External Moderator of Examinations to several Colleges of Education and Polytechnics, Member of Presidential Committee on Conflict in Benue, Taraba, Nassarawa and Plateau States.

She joined TRCN in 2002 on transfer of service and was posted as the pioneer Director for Adamawa and Taraba States. She later served briefly as the Zonal Director for Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba States. She was redeployed to the Headquarters, Abuja in 2006 as head of Education and Accreditation Division in the Department of Professional Operations.

She headed several committees and also represented the Council at different fora. Mrs. Ansari also served in the TRCN/STEP-B Project (A World Bank assisted Project) as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officer between 2008 to 2012.

Mrs. Ansari is a well travelled personality and had visited Israel, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Chad, Ghana, Kenya, England, Italy and USA for trainings, workshops and seminars. She is happily married. She was posted to Department of Planning, Research and Statistics as acting Director in May, 2012.
